Spanish Artillery Crew (Early) - Spanish Independence War (1808) - PART 1

Hi everybody! This time I'd like to post my new "work in progress". Yesterday i felt like starting painting some spanish napoleonic figures. Sadly, there aren't many brands comercializing 28mm spanish figures during napoleonic wars, one of them is front rank, so i bought this spanish artillery crew some time ago. Front rank's figures are well designed and very enjoyable to be painted, however, i find them rather disproporcionates for my taste since i prefer more realistic figures. Anyway, I m having a good time painting them and trying some new techniques on them. Here I post some pics. The faces are almost finished as well as the coats waiting for some last minute touch. I will be updating with more work in progress as soon as I continue painting them.

Hola a todos! Esta vez quiero postear un "making of" the mis próximas figuras. Ayer me apetecía comenzar a pintar alguna figura española de las guerras napoleónicas. La verdad es que no hay muchas marcas que comercialicen figuras de 28mm sobre el ejército español durante las guerras napoleónicas, pero una de ellas es Front Rank, así que compré estas figuras hace algún tiempo. Las figuras de Front Rank están muy bien diseñadas y son divertidas de pintar, aunque para mi gusto, prefiero figuras con proporciones más realistas (ya que éstas están algo desproporcionadas). Estoy disfrutando mucho pintándolas y probando nuevas técnicas en ellas. Posteo unas fotos de cómo va el trabajo. Las caras y la casaca están prácticamente terminadas a falta de algunos retoques. Seguiré añadiendo post sgún avance el trabajo.

Connaught rangers officer - Peninsular war (1808)

I wanna start this blog with one of the first figures i managed to finish painting (1 year ago). It s a 18mm british officer from the peninsular war in Spain, that i painted as the irish "connaught rangers regiment", which fought under wellington's command. The figure belongs to the dissapeared brand "falcata miniatures" wich is very hard to find in shops at the moment. Maybe that s why i appreciate it so much!

Introduction

Welcome to my showcase! First of all, i would like to introduce myself. I ve loved miniature soldiers since i was a child, impressed with the scenes they represent. So i started painting my own figures years later. I ve learnt by myself, searching and reading many articles from the best miniature painters on internet as well as in books. However, i m far from finding my own style, always trying to improve my paints.

Bienvenido a mi vitrina! Para empezar, me gustaría presentarme. Me han gustado los soldados en miniatura desde que era pequeño, impresionado por las escenas que representan. Así que comencé pintando mis propias figuras años después. He aprendido por mi mismo, buscando y leyendo articulos de los mejores pintores de miniaturas en internet, así como en libros. Sin embargo, estoy lejos de encontrar mi propio estilo, siempre intentando mejorar mis pinturas.
